Professor Zampelli has primary teaching responsibilities in the areas of microeconomics, statistics, and public finance. His research has appeared in some of the most prestigious academic journals including The American Economic Review, The Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Public Economics, and the Journal of Development Economics. In 1994, Professor Zampelli received the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) award as Professor of the Year for the District of Columbia for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. He has previously served as a representative to and President of the University's Academic Senate. Professor Zampelli holds a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Maryland at College Park.
